The Boston Prostate Cancer Walk
has been successful in raising almost $2,000,000 for prostate cancer research, which includes recognition and funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
For the past five years the Boston Prostate Cancer Walk was
the largest donor of new prostate cancer research in Massachusetts, excluding
any possible contributions made by the federal government.
Please join us in our efforts to raise money for prostate cancer
research by becoming a sponsor of the eighth annual Boston Prostate Cancer
Walk on Father's Day, June 15, 2008. As a sponsor, you will be part of what is
quickly becoming a very visible annual event for Boston. We welcome individual,
organizational, and corporate sponsorships.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the
United States. It accounts for almost 1/3 of all new cases of cancer in men. Today,
there are about 30,000 men living in Massachusetts, and about 2,000,000 men in the
United States, with prostate cancer. Early diagnosis, education, and treatment may
make the difference between life and death.
We are also the largest source of education and awareness in
Massachusetts and perhaps in New England. Our half hour video tape was shown in
500 cities and towns in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, most of Connecticut, and
Rhode Island. Our major sponsors are recognized on these tapes.
